Softball returns to GCAA action

This weekend proved difficult for the Golden Knights softball team. The club was vying for a spot in the GCAA Tournament, but were swept Friday by South Georgia, and then East Georgia was not too kind on their trip to Carrollton Saturday.

On Friday, West Georgia Tech dropped a heartbreaker in eight innings 6-5 to the Hawks in Game One. South Georgia took advantage of the momentum to take Game Two 10-1. On Saturday afternoon, East Georgia visited from Swainsboro and took both games, 8-4 and 5-0, respectively.

The Golden Knights are 9-25 on the year, 5-21 in GCAA to play. They will close the 2017 campaign next Friday at home against Georgia Highlands. The action at Central High School will begin at 5 p.m.
