Baseball Enters Final Stretch

Carrollton, GA - The Golden Knights baseball team picked itself up and won the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader with a 4-3 over Abraham Baldwin here Saturday.

With 2 out in the bottom of the 2nd, a walk and 2 hit batsmen set the table for Justin Guyton, who's double cleared the bases.  Jacob Earley followed with another double driving in Guyton and the Knights jumped ahead 4-0.  WGTC then held on behind right-hander Caleb Dixon (5-4) who scattered 6 hits and 3 runs over 7 innings while striking out 3 with no walks.

The game was a highlight over what had been a difficult series for the Knights. ABAC (26-25, 14-14) had taken the previous three games by scores of 20-3, 12-1, and 16-2.

WGTC (18-34, 7-21) will travel to Gordon Thursday for a 3 pm single game.  The season will close with a single game at home Saturday against South Georgia. First pitch is slated for 3 pm.
