WGTC Baseball Struggles Against Georgia Highlands

After picking up its first GCAA win 16-6 against Georgia Highlands last Wednesday, the Golden Knights hoped to build on that momentum as they traveled to Emerson's LakePoint to continue the series with the Chargers.  The two teams squared off with a single game Friday followed by a doubleheader Saturday.

On Friday, WGTC picked-up where it had left off Wednesday,  jumping out to leads of 6-2 lead after 3 innings and 10-6 thru 6 innings, but could not hold on , losing 13-12 in 10 innings.  Runs were at a premium on Saturday for the Knights as they were swept, dropping the opener 4-1 and then the nightcap 5-1.

Coach Beau Welborn's club stands at 10-19 overall, 1-8 in GCAA play.  The Knights begin a series Tuesday when they travel to Andrew College for a 6 pm contest. The series shifts back to Carrollton with a single game Friday at 4 pm followed by a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 1 pm.
